Uptime Monitoring

Know your site is down before your visitors do.

Every important page is checked around the clock. When one stops answering, you know right away — and see why it went down.

Uptime Monitoring

How it works

  1. Add your site

Type the domain. We find the main pages ourselves — you adjust the list.

  2. We check every page

Around the clock, on the schedule you choose: whether the page answers, with the right status and the right content.

  3. You get notified

An alert lands in your team chat with what went down and why. No floods, no noise.

What you get

Every outage, measured and explained.

How long visitors were locked out, why it happened and what took the site down.

  • Outages measured to the minute

While a page is down we watch it closely, so you know exactly how long visitors couldn’t get in.

  • More than “it answered”

Check that a page contains — or doesn’t contain — a text, expect a specific status, send headers or basic auth.

  • A clear reason for every failure

No answer, refused connection, bad certificate or a 500 — each failure says why, in plain words.

  • What took the site down

If your app reports errors to AxoWatch, the errors that arrived during the outage are right next to it.

  • SSL certificates that never expire by surprise

AxoWatch checks the SSL certificate of every site you watch and warns you 14, 7, 3 and 1 day before it expires — in the same channel as your other alerts. If a certificate is already invalid, the check fails and tells you why.

Questions

Short answers to what people ask before they start.

How often are pages checked?

Around the clock. You choose how often each page is checked, and a page that’s down is watched even more closely.

How do you avoid false alarms?

One slow answer doesn’t raise the alarm: a page counts as down only when it keeps failing.

Can it check that the page shows the right content?

Yes. A keyword check fails when a text is missing from the page, or when a text that must not be there shows up.

Where do the alerts go?

Straight to your team chat — with what went down, where and why.

Do you monitor SSL certificates?

Yes. Every site’s certificate is checked automatically, and you get an alert 14, 7, 3 and 1 day before it expires. An invalid or expired certificate fails the uptime check with a plain-language reason.
